The oldest distillery in the country is located in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and continues to produce every drop of Jack Daniels Tennessee Whisky. Jack Daniel decided to locate his distillery here in order to capitalise on the Cave Spring, which supplies the cold, iron-free water necessary for producing whisky with exceptional flavour.

Ten feet of sugar maple charcoal is used to drip-filter the whisky before it is aged in new American oak barrels. This process turns Jack Daniels into a Tennessee whisky and sets it apart from bourbon. The whisky and the barrel wood interact more because of the intense heat and cold of the Tennessee seasons, which imparts
