Francis Hardy’s admiration for the Borderies cru spurred him to create a Napoléon-quality cognac at the end of the Second World War, by blending it with other marvels.

Legend 1863 is the worthy heir to this tale, blending the elegant Petite Champagne with the delicate Borderies.

HARDY COGNAC Since 1863


Maison Hardy owes its name to an authentic 19th century English gentleman, Anthony Hardy. Like any conscientious wine and spirit merchant, Hardy liked to get out of London as often as he could and head down to Charente to check on the progress of the finest Cognac crus. He finally succumbed to the region’s charms in 1863, relocating there permanently. He founded Maison Hardy in 1863. As a mark of his great affection for France and the French, he went so far as to adopt the Gallic form of his Christian name, henceforth being known as Antoine Hardy. He also adopted the iconic French cockerel as the emblem of his new company.	Legend 1863 is a smooth, aromatic and charming cognac with notes of citrus and coffee. It should be enjoyed neat, to fully appreciate its rich aromas and long finish. Hardy aux-de-vie between 2 and 12 years, reduction in 4 steps with light heating Limousin’s oak barrel to keepthe elegance of Hardy style.


FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE 1 oz Hardy cognac Legend 1 oz crème de framboise 2 oz ginger ale Pour the ingredients into a tumbler glass, addthe ice and ginger ale. Decorate with fruit.	LEGENDARY SIDE CAR ½ oz Hardy cognac Legend 0.5 oz triple sec 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice Put some ice in a shaker. Addthe cognac, liqueur and lemon juice and shake vigorously. Strain twice and serve.	CHERRY BLOOM 0.1 oz Hardy cognac legend 0.5 oz crème de cassis 0.5 oz lemon juice 2 oz lemonade Pour all of the ingredients and some ice into a shaker. Shake until ice coats the side and serve.
