One of the first pair of entries in Glenfiddich's Experimental Series, Project XX started as a whisky created by the distillery's 20 brand ambassadors – each selected a cask and master blender Brian Kinsman combined them to create the template for this 47%, non-chill-filtered whisky. It's a mix of sherry casks, bourbon casks and more, with a rich and spicy character.
Twenty of the industry's most exceptional minds came together to create this truly unique, pioneering expression.
With its deep golden hue, Project XX embodies the warm, fruity character of a classic Glenfiddich whisky with hints of apple blossom, summer fruits and ripe pear. But its multiple personalities are revealed with hints of sweet candyfloss, cinnamon spice, almonds and rich port tannins with the odd whisper of liquorice.
Deep and mellow, the finish is long lasting with a lingering sweet oakiness.

For 20 years William Grant nurtured a dream to make the 'best dram in the valley'. With the help of his family, he finally achieved that vision.
In the summer of 1886, with his seven sons and two daughters by his side, William set out to fulfil a lifelong ambition. Together they began building his Distillery by hand, stone by stone. After a single year of work it was ready and William named it Glenfiddich, Gaelic for Valley of the Deer.

First taste was all alcohol and fresh plums, sharpness persisting. Tipsy (second) taste smoother, aftertaste richly sweet. Almost.

Partner loved it, best whiskey this year

My partner is an avid whiskey drinker, a big fan of the drink and unique flavours. I got this as a five year Anniversary present for him and to say he loved it was an understatement. Never has the reaction to a gift made me feel quite so special, like I got it perfectly right. His first sip and his eyes lit up, said it was a brilliant taste hit the back of his mouth and then travelled forward and made him feel warm in the chest and full of flavour. The ingredients aren't listed however he said it was sweet but still had all strong, but not overwhelming. He loved it in short and I would recommend it for any whiskey fans especially those that like to try something different. The secret bland just makes it all that much better.
